The Mike Modano Foundation ARCH Center Endowment Fund at Childrens Medical Center
The Mike Modano Foundation is proud to announce the formation of the Mike Modano Foundation ARCH Center Endowment Fund at Childrens Medical Center. The funds will be used to serve the patients at the At-Risk Childrens Hospital (ARCH) at Childrens Medical Center Dallas.

For more than 90 years, the families of North Texas have trusted Childrens Medical Center to care for our communitys most valuable resourceour children. Providing more than 342,000 patient visits annually from children living not only in Dallas but from all over the U.S. and the world, Childrens is the largest provider of pediatric healthcare in North Texas. Notably, Childrens the only pediatric hospital in Texas and one of only 14 in the nation to be designated as a Level I Trauma Center allowing them to handle the most extreme pediatric emergencies.

The ARCH Center is a valuable part of the hospital. The mission of the Crystal Charity Ball ARCH Center is to improve the quality of life for physically and emotionally fragile children in the Dallas area through exemplary medical care, social support, community referrals, advocacy and education. Opened in 1999, the ARCH center allows the hospital to provide comprehensive medical and social care for children whose needs overlap with the services offered by various programs. Made up of six clinics - REACH (Referral and Evaluation of Abused Children) Clinic, Foster Care Clinic, Low Birth Weight Clinic ARMS (AIDS-Related Medical Services) Clinic, AYA (Adolescent Young Adult) Clinic, Lead Poisoning Clinic the ARCH centers purpose is a natural fit with the Mike Modano Foundation mission. We look forward to the wonderful partnership with Childrens Medical Center and look forward to helping at-risk kids in this community.

2006 Capital for Kids partners with The Mike Modano Foundation
The Mike Modano Foundation is pleased to partner with Capital for Kids, an organization focused on children in need, to raise funds and awareness for at-risk children in this community.

Capital for Kids is a network of individuals and organizations in the investment management business dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children in need. The group has already distributed close to $1,000,000 to area agencies such as Jonathans Place, Childrens Medical Center, Childrens Advocacy Center, Nexus and others. Capital for Kids is passionate in supporting organizations that educate, protect and encourage the development of children in the North Texas area. Last years gala raised over $700,000 and drew over 500 attendees from investment firms and major corporations. This years efforts have already exceeded $400,000 and our goal is to raise $1,000,000.

The Mike Modano Foundation would like to thank all of the individuals that donate their time and energy and work so diligently during the year to make this partnership so special. For more information on Capital for Kids, please visit www.capitalforkids.org.

The Mike Modano Foundation is proud to support organizations such as Jonathan's Place and Hedge Funds Care for helping stop child abuse and neglect. Jonathan's Place is the only licensed, emergency shelter for children newborn through six (6) years of age in Region III of Texas (Dallas and surrounding counties). Every child at Johnathan's Place has been removed by Child Protective Services (CPS) due to some form of abuse (sexual or physical), abandonment and/or neglect at the hands of their parent(s) or guardian(s). These children receive specialized services to assist in recovery from trauma, such as a safe home, medical attention, psychological assistance, dental assistance and development assessments. But more importantly, these children receive unconditional love from a trained and experienced staff. Visit http://www.jpkids.org for more information on the amazing things being accomplished by Jonathan's Place.

The Mike Modano Cottage - In September 2003, The Mike Modano Infant and Toddler Cottage opened its doors to help at risk children who have been removed from their homes from Child Protective Services. After 10 successful years of serving abused, abandoned and neglected children on Gaston Avenue in East Dallas, Jonathan's Place opened another facility. Phase I of this $6 million expansion project is complete and two new cottages now serve the increasing number of "at-risk" children in the North Texas area. The Mike Modano Infant & Toddler Cottage serves 16 children, ages newborn to 5 years. The Youth Cottage serves an additional 16 children between the ages of 6 and 11 years. Each room within the cottages is spacious to allow more children to be served, but maintaina a cozy environment.

The Mike Modano Foundation presented a check for $565,000 to Jonathan's Place at the official ground breaking of a new 6-acre campus in Garland, which houses the Mike Modano Cottage. The new facilities provide a loving and safe place for abused children," said Modano. During the ceremony, Modano used a hockey stick to break ground.

"Why I Created The Mike Modano Foundation - My life has been blessed in so many ways. At the center of it all was a wonderful home with loving parents and two great, supportive sisters. I was lucky enough to have a happy, healthy life, as well as the opportunity to pursue my dreams. Unfortunately, not every child has that kind of support system and solid home life. In 2002, over 5100 children in Dallas County were victims of abuse and neglect at the hands of family members - the very people they depend on for love and security.

I Believe that I have an obligation to share my good fortune and try to make a difference in the lives of others. As a public figure, I also have a rare opportunity to speak out and be heard. Ive established The Mike Modano Foundation and have devoted my time, energy, and financial resources to telling others about the tragedy of child abuse.

Child Abuse is a learned behavior that can pass from generation to generation. It knows no economic, cultural, ethnic, or geographic boundaries. It is a reality and it exists in our own backyard. It is our responsibility as compassionate human beings and community members to do something about it. My goal, and the goal of The Mike Modano Foundation, is to raise awareness and provide funding for organizations whose purpose is to offer education and assistance to children and families who suffer the devastation of abuse. In 2003, I realized one of my dreams. I established the Mike Modano Cottage, a safe haven and education center for the victims of child abuse. The cottage provide a place where every child can pursue their dreams and realize a better life.
