• Modano was named NHL Player of the Week on Monday following a seven-point week.
• Modano again started out on a line with Jere Lehtinen and Rob DiMaio, but found himself back with Lehtinen and Bill Guerin later in the game.  Modano assisted fellow NHL All-Star Guerin on the first goal of the game and Guerin was the primary assist on Modano’s first goal.
• Modano will be making his fifth All-Star game appearance and first as a starter.  He was also named a reserve in two other All-Star games but was unable to play due to injury.
• Modano’s two goals and assists marked his 14th multiple-point game of the season.  He has multiple-point efforts in five of the last six games, including each of the last three.

“ There is a little more to it being voted in.  It will be pretty unique to play alongside Bill (Guerin).  It was a good afternoon today all around.  It’s a thrill to be voted in by the fans.  It’s been a great first half.”
Modano on being voted in as an NHL All-Star starter along with linemate Bill Guerin

“The bar is very high for both of them.  You expect excellence out of them all of the time.  But it’s inhuman to do that.”
Stars coach Dave Tippett on Modano and Guerin
