With baited breath, every Dallas Stars fan watched
with excitement as Mike Modano assisted Ulf Dahlen's first period goal giving
Mike his 1000th career point on November 15, 2002. Modano is the fifth American
born player to score 1000 or more points in their NHL career and the 64th
overall. Only 25 other players have reached the milestone with one team.
The Stars honored Mike with a special ceremony on February 16, 2003 for his
1000th game, 1000th point, franchise record in assist, franchise record in games
played, and his 600 assist.

The Stars wanted to make sure the celebration honoring Mike Modano's 1,000th
NHL point and 1,000th NHL game was one to remember.
How exactly do you
Well, obviously, you get him his own, customized motorcycle.
The Stars teamed up with Easyriders of Dallas to put together a one-of-a-kind
motorcycle for the franchise's all-time leading scorer and marquee player, one
that is as unique as his presence has been in the organization.
The Modano 1000 Chopper is the brainchild of Rick Fairless, owner and
operator of Easyriders of Dallas. Rick has been building bikes for the pro-sport
leagues for the last seven years. Richard Matvichuk, Derian Hatcher, Jason
Arnott and Bill Guerin have all been recipients of Rick's creations.
Modanos' chopper is a factory custom from Big Dog Motorcycles. Released in
November of 2002, the Chopper is taking the bike world by storm. Hot Bike
Magazine rated the Big Dog Chopper one of the best in its class. Easyriders of
Dallas customized the paint on Mike's bike to commemorate both of Mike's
achievements of 1000 games and 1000 points. The prominent Dallas Stars Logo
resides on the tank and Mike's Jersey number "9" sits on the rear fender. Mike
DuSold of DuSold DeSigns applied the Stars green and gold then added the special
effects ice lettering to top it off.
