The Mike Madano Foundation
We primarily focus on assisting children that have been abused, neglected, or abandoned. We define "children" from infants thru twelve years of age.
We support only those organizations that benefit the local Dallas area.
We do not make contributions to individuals: only organizations or charities whose charter is consistent with our goals. Most organizations must have a 501 (c) (3) designation.
We do not make donations to public or private schools which are normally funded by state and local governments. Schools focus on education and broader issues outside the scope of our mission.
We do not make donations to interscholastic or city sponsored sports teams. We encourage good sportsmanship and encourage participation in team sports, but the focus of our foundation does not focus on these activities, and therefore cannot support them monetarily.
We do not make contributions to fund research for diseases or medical causes.
We do not make donations to alcohol or drug abuse related causes. Although this is a very important cause, it does not fall within our parameters.
We prefer to make contributions that support a
one time expense, special projects or purchase specific assets.
We do not support contribution requests from political or religious organizations.
We do not contribute to operating budgets. We do not contribute to capital campaigns or building expansion programs.
All requests for grants must be made in writing on the letterhead of the charity, stating the specific date of the event, place where event is being held, with a contact name and phone number referenced on the letter. It must also state the beneficiary.
Requests for donations and/or autographed items are limited to one request per year per organization or individual making the request.
Sending items to our organization to be autographed is not encouraged. We are not responsible for items that are lost or misplaced.
Please allow a minimum of 6-8 weeks for processing requests.
Thank you for your understanding.
