Exciting News In Mo's World

Just in case you haven't heard, Mike Modano first tied, and then broke Neal Broten's franchise record of 867 career points on February 14. Mike said, "It was a special night. I had a lot of emotions. Afterwards you think about everybody that's been a part of it for 12 years. It comes flashing back."

Mike scored a goal and dished out two assists to push the Stars past the Kings (4-2) and past a legendary record. Mike is the all-time scoring leader (869 points) in the Stars franchise history.

Mike scored with only 55.9 seconds remaining to break a 2-2 tie, and then he assisted on an empty- net goal. This gave him 3 points for the night.

Mike said, "When you're 18 or 19 you seem to migrate to certain individuals, and Neal was one of those guys. I pretty much followed him on his heels everywhere he went, how he played and how he acted."

Coach Ken Hitchcock said "[Mike] helped [us] win the Stanley Cup in 1999 and now has 369 career goals and 500 career assists".
