Kari Lehtonen has been through the preparation rigors before.

The Stars' new No. 1 goaltender has been doing everything in his power to get ready for the 2010-11 season. He's the man again, months after he was sidelined and recovering from several back surgeries. He showed what he could do at the end of last season, when the Stars picked him up right before the Olympic break. He earned the No. 1 job.

Now he has to prove he's worth it.

With the Stars struggling late last season, Lehtonen came in and did what he could to steady them. He was stoic and strong in net, and he was confident and rust-free despite those past injuries. Hicks Sports Group is close to selling the Dallas Stars and 50 percent interest in American Airlines Center to an unspecified buyer for $275 million to $300 million, Forbes reported on Wednesday. Plenty of speculation has focused recently on Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, who had expressed interest in the purchase of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Canadian tycoon Bill Gallacher, owner WHL Portland of the Canadian juniors league, was reported recently to have a deal in place to buy the Stars for $225 million, but that was shot down by Dallas sources.
