All-Star Schedule of Events


• NHL Street All-Star Tournament (Runyeon Elementary School, 10750 Cradlerock Drive, Dallas, 10-11 a.m.) Scheduled to appear are Stars All-Star defenseman Philippe Boucher, Stars forward Matthew Barnaby and All-Star Kimmo Timonen.

• Garth Brooks Teammates For Kids Foundation Zone Playroom Ceremony (Cook Children's Medical Center, 801 7th Avenue, Fort Worth, 10-11:30 a.m.) Scheduled to participate with Brooks are Stars president Jim Lites, Stars All-Star goalie Marty Turco, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, Cowboys Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman and other All-Stars and YoungStars

• NHL Mascot Street Hockey Game (All-Star Plaza at Victory Park South Plaza, 4-5 p.m.)

• All-Star Plaza Opening Ceremony (All-Star Plaza at Victory Park South Plaza, 5 p.m.)

• Dallas Stars Cup Reunion (AAC, All-Star Plaza, 4:45-5:30 p.m.) Members of the 1999 Stanley Cup champions will reunite and lead the Cup's procession onto the All-Star Plaza. Scheduled to appear are current Stars Mike Modano, Sergei Zubov and Darryl Sydor plus former Stars Brett Hull, Joe Nieuwendyk, Craig Ludwig, Ed Belfour, Dave Reid, Benoit Hogue, Brian Skrudland, Shawn Chambers and Pat Verbeek.

• American Airlines "NHL Salute to a Generation of Stars" and All-Star practice (AAC, ticketed event, 6-8 p.m.) The all-stars will hold showcase practices during which there will be a salute to several former NHL stars. Scheduled to appear are Mark Messier, Mario Lemieux, Larry Murphy, Phil Housley, Ray Bourque, Paul Coffey, Al McInnis, Luc Robitaille, Adam Oates. Brett Hull and Joe Nieuwendyk will join after the Stars' 1999 reunion.

• NHL All-Star/Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Benefit Concert (Hyatt Regency Dallas Landmark Ballroom, 8-11 p.m.) Three-time Grammy award winner Trisha Yearwood will perform at the concert, hosted by Garth Brooks. Proceeds from the show will benefit Teammates for Kids.


• Habitat for Humanity House Build. Scheduled to appear are Sidney Crosby, Alexander Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin, Jordan Staal, Mike Green, Willie O'Ree, Mike Gartner, Stars All-Star defenseman Philippe Boucher and former Stars Craig Ludwig, Dave Reid and Pat Verbeek. (AAC north parking lot, 7 a.m.-4 p.m.)

• All-Stars Welcome Home the Troops. Scheduled to appear are Bill Guerin, Ryan Miller and Brian Rafalski. (D/FW International Airport, Terminal D, 8:30 a.m.)

• "Stick With Reading" classroom visit. Scheduled to appear are Stars All-Star goalie Marty Turco and Stars teammates Brenden Morrow and Jussi Jokinen. (Claude Curtsinger Elementary, 12450 Jereme Trail, Frisco, 9-10:30 a.m.)

• African-Americans in Hockey: A Discussion of Origins luncheon (Fairmont Hotel International Ballroom, 1717 N. Akard, Dallas, noon-2 p.m.) Stars defenseman Trevor Daley is scheduled to appear with All-Star Jonathan Cheechoo and former player Willie O'Ree.

• Red carpet arrivals (AAC, South Plaza, 4:30-5:30 pm.) All-Stars, YoungStars and celebrities will greet fans and media along the red carpet upon their arrival.

• YoungStars game, presented by Upper Deck (AAC, ticketed event, 6:30-7:30 p.m.) The league's top players age 23 or younger on their first contract will play 4-on-4 for three periods of 10-minutes running time in an East-West format. The Stars will be represented by Jussi Jokinen.

• Dodge Nitro/NHL SuperSkills (AAC, ticketed event, 7:30-9 p.m.) All-stars will show off skating, puck-handling and shooting skills. Participants haven't been selected.


• Freeze Out Hunger (North Texas Food Bank, 4344 Bronze Way, Dallas, 10-11:30 a.m.) Scheduled to participate Stars players Jaroslav Modry, Mike Smith, Mathias Tjarnqvist and several All-Stars.

• 55th NHL All-Star Game (AAC, ticketed event, 7 p.m.) Stars will have two participants, defenseman Philippe Boucher and goalie Marty Turco Musical performers will be Robert Randolph & The Family Band, The Wreckers, and Italian soprano Giorgia Fumanti. Performers will begin at 4:30 p.m. at All-Star Plaza at Victory Park South Plaza
